Beneficial Use Project
• Notice is Hereby Given under Section NR 538.18 (1) (a) & (b), Wis. Adm. Code that Beneficial Reuse Management, LLC intends to construct a beneficial use project under Chapter NR 538, Wis. Adm. Code at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in the Town of Milton, Buffalo County. The project is located at 2895 Highway 35, Fountain City, WI 54629 in part of the SW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 25, T. 20 N., R. 12W., Town of Milton, Buffalo County. The project to be constructed is filling an area for additional parking space on the property. The unconfined geotechnical fill for this project area will be constructed using foundry sand and furnace slag from the Badger Foundry Company located in Winona, MN. The cumulative volume of foundry sand and furnace slag will be approximately 36,500 cubic yards. The top working surface and side slopes containing the foundry sand and furnace slag will be covered with two feet of native soil including 4 inches of topsoil and seeded. Unconfined geotechnical fill using foundry sand and furnace slag from the Badger Foundry Company is an approved beneficial use of this material under Chapter NR 538, Wis. Adm. Code. This project will require 27 months to complete once it begins to be constructed.
