TOWN OF MILTON
TOWN BOARD MEETING
February 20, 2008
Chairperson Haeuser called the meeting to order at the Milton Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. with all board members present. Also present were thirteen community members.
Public Input Requests: Gerald Gore requested to speak for public input. He remains concerned about the mess in the park and feels that not enough is being done about the situation by the County. He has gone to the Public Health Dept and they are not able to help, but believes the State may be able to help. The DNR may also be investigating. Chairperson Haeuser indicated that he spoke to the involved residents about the situation and the cars were removed and the boat will be gone in the Spring. He expressed concern about passing an ordinance regarding this because it would have far-reaching effects. He indicated that this matter will be placed on the agenda for the March meeting, at which times options will be presented.
Train Whistle Committee: Dick Gordon reported on the progress of the train whistle committee. He has formed a three member committee and has discussed the matter with Fountain City Mayor, Carl Brommerich. Mayor Brommerich told him that he has a lot of documentation on this that he would be willing to provide to the Township, upon the Township’s request. Mr. Gordon also learned that the railroad would conduct a feasibility study at the Township’s request. He has found out that other City’s have been able to get some restrictions on the hours during which the horns can be blown and believes this might be a reasonable alternate. Chairperson Haeuser indicated that he would contact Mayor Brommerich and request the information.
Other – snowplowing: Dick Gordon remains concerned about the snowplowing done near his home and requests that Paul Duellman come and view the situation
Bills: Bills were presented. Motion to pay bills by Supervisor Rodney Bagniewski and seconded by Supervisor Eugene Bagniewski, Jr. (motion passed).
Approval of Minutes: Clerk Engel had distributed the minutes from the January 16, 2008 monthly meeting prior to the meeting. Supervisor Eugene Bagniewski, Jr. moved to approve the minutes with a second from Supervisor Rodney Bagniewski. (motion passed).
Roadwork: We received the road rating report and the bridge report. Chairperson Haueser informed Paul Duellman of what needed to be done with the bridges
Computer: The treasurer’s computer is malfunctioning and the County recommended that it be replaced before the next tax season. Supervisor Eugene Bagniewski, Jr. moved to spend up to $500 for a replacement computer and Supervisor Rodney Bagniewski seconded the motion.
Adjournment: Motion to adjourn by Supervisor Rodney Bagniewski; second by Supervisor Eugene Bagniewski, Jr.. (motion passed).
