December 16, 2009 Public meeting Regarding Discontinuance of Lover's Lane as a Town Road
TOWN OF MILTON
PUBLIC HEARING ON ROAD DISCONTINUANCE (Lover's Lane)
December 16, 2009
Chairperson Platteter called the meeting to order at the Milton Town Hall at 7:17 p.m. with all board members present. Also present were 5 community members. Chairperson Platteter noted that C. Michael Chambers, attorney for the Town of Milton, had caused notice to be published in the newspaper for three consecutive weeks and provided written notice to adjacent property owners, the DNR, the DOT and the land conservation department at least 30 days prior to the hearing. Each Board member also personally viewed the roadway on December 16, 2009: Kevin Dienger at 6:42 p.m., Eugene Bagniewski at 6:58 p.m. and Robert Platteter at 7:02 p.m.
Bob Cisewski wondered if he would have to do anything with the bridges, like remove them. Chairperson Platteter told him the roadway could stay pretty much as is since it will be a private roadway. There were no other comments.
Supervisor Dienger moved to discontinue Lover's Lane as a town road and Supervisor Platteter seconded the motion (motion passed).
Discussion was had on how to close off the roadway. Bob Cisewski would prefer to have gates. Chairperson Platteter stated that the Township would place post for the gates if he would provide the gates. This was acceptable to Mr. Cisewski. In the meantime, Paul Duellman will build a snow berm and signs or other appropriate blocking and notification of the road closure.
Motion to adjourn the public hearing by Supervisor Bagniewski and seconded by Supervisor Dienger (motion passed).
Meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
