TOWN OF MILTON
TOWN BOARD MEETING
August 19, 2008
Chairperson Haeuser called the meeting to order at the Milton Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. with all board members present. Also present were three community members.
Bills: Bills were presented. Motion to pay bills by Supervisor Bagniewski a second by Supervisor Platteter. (motion passed). Treasurer Isakson will be transferring $27,000 of our CD money into a one-year CD paying 3.2%, which is more than the interest rate for Money Market funds.
Approval of Minutes: Clerk Engel had distributed the minutes from the July 16, 2008 monthly meeting prior to the meeting. Supervisor Platteter moved to approve the minutes and Supervisor Bagniewski seconded the motion (motion passed).
Roadwork:
• Herzberg Road: The County ended up doing all the blacktopping on the road which will cost them over $10,000; however the Town of Milton spent approximately $10,000 finishing up the road and laying gravel, but the road should last for several more years.
• Ernst: Paul Duellman reported that the Ernst road was in the final stages of approval.
• Lutheran Home: The State is not going to let the road come out where they originally wanted to (right next to Warren Bechly’s lot) and are still trying to get them to come out by Fort’s Road. One other possibility is moving the site to Bechly Road.
• Bruce Malotke: Bruce Malotke’s fence is on town property. Bruce Malotke stated that David Duellman allegedly purchased a corner of land from Ralph Bechly which would mean that David Duellman owns a portion of the town road—and would make it difficult to sell land. Fred Krueger bought some land from the Bechlys on the end of the town road and will want to have access to his property. If Duellman owns the town road, the Krueger land would be land-locked. The problem that may arise is that if Bruce Malotke is forced to move his fence (because it is on town property), there will be other issues that arise with people who are using town property.
• Cutting Weeds: Paul Duellman was directed to cut weeds after the Labor Day holiday.
• Road Maintenance: Paul Duellman was instructed to get cold mix and fix the spots on the roads that need fixing.
Other Issues:
• Scott Bagniewski has a problem dog on Badger Road. John Campbell has been complaining about the dogs.
• Supervisor Platteter reported on the town officer’s meeting that he attended.
Adjournment: Motion to adjourn by Supervisor Platteter and seconded by Supervisor Bagniewski. (motion passed).
