TOWN OF MILTON
ANNUAL MEETING
April 16, 2008
Chairperson Haeuser called the meeting to order at the Milton Town Hall at 7:37 p.m. with twelve community members present.
Minutes: Clerk Engel read the minutes of the April 10, 2007 annual meeting. Motion to approve the minutes by Bob Platetter; seconded by Eugene Bagniewski, Sr. Motion carried unanimously (12-0).
Financial Report: The 2007 Financial Report was distributed in advance of the meeting. Chairperson Haeuser asked if there were any questions regarding the report. Motion to approve the financial report by Rodney Bagniewski and seconded by Bob Platteter. Motion carried unanimously (12-0).
Re-Assessment Results and Feedback: Kenneth Haeuser asked for input on the re-assessment. Clerk Engel and Chairperson Haeuser recommended that individual questions be directed to the assessor, Eric Kleven.
Compensation of Elected Officers: Motion by Rich Bagniewski to leave current salaries where they are with a second by Gerald Goran. Motion carried unanimously (12-0).
Ordinance for Unkempt Properties in the Township: Gerald Goran gave a report on the issue that gave rise to the situation (which is having refrigerators and junk in the yard). Chairperson Haeuser explained how we had contacted the Wisconsin Towns Association and Clerk Engel read the letter we received from the Wisconsin Towns Association. Discussion was had on the issue of whether we need to have a public nuisance ordinance. By a show of hands, two voted in favor of an ordinance and ten voted against having an ordinance.
Roadwork: No major roadwork will be done this year except for crack filling and pothole filling. Warren Bechly has donated land for a Lutheran Home but there have been issues regarding the location of the roadway and options are being explored. Another issue exists with respect to the road that was built into the Ernst property. The state will not grant us transportation aids because the roadway is not built correctly. The issue is that, when Rich Ernst applied for the roadway he indicated that it was for one house for him and not a subdivision. Paul Duellman agreed to take care of sweeping the roads.
Board of Review: Clerk Engel will call the Assessor to set up the time for Board of Review and shoot for the third week of May.
Adjournment: Motion to adjourn by Kalene Engel and seconded by Paul Isakson. Motion passed unanimously (12-0).
